Since 1906, the Lima Rescue Mission has been reaching out to the homeless and needy in Lima and surrounding areas. The Mission is a faith-based organization - all funding comes directly from individuals, businesses, churches and other organizations who want to be involved in helping people in need in our community. No funding comes from the government or other agencies. Click here for more information on the Lima Rescue Mission.
Youth Prayer Path
Open your eyes...open your ears...open your heart...encounter God with The Prayer Path.
Each year before Easter the youth center is transformed in to a prayer labyrinth with numerous stations for prayer and meditation to fully experience Christ in a unique way. Participants will "journey" through the labyrinth which will lead them to "let go" of busyness, hurt and distractions that can spoil relationships, "center" their lives on God and spend time with him, and reach out to the world with Christ's love.
Food Baskets
The Ch-Ki-Lo Food Pantry provides holiday food baskets three times a year at Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas to needy families in the Cridersville area. Each family receives enough food to provide a traditional holiday meal for their family. In addition, at Christmas, the families with children are provided with an age appropriate gift for each child through our Angel Tree program.
School Tutoring
We connect with the after school tutoring program that takes place at Cridersville Elementary School helping children whose teachers refer them to the program. The tutors encourage students and help them with their homework.
Family Fun Tent
Join us at the Family Fun Tent during the Cridersville Jamboree held on the second weekend of July each year. The Family Fun Tent provides a family oriented gathering and activity place during the Jamboree which includes children's games and activities, puppet shows, crafts, and more.
Trick or Treat on Main
Each year the Outreach Committee provides homemade cookies and hot chocolate to trick or treaters on Main Street Cridersville in front of the Administration Building. Each cookie bag is wrapped with love and tagged with the following message:
Please accept this hot chocolate as a practical gift of God’s love. We hope it will warm your heart and remind you of how important and special you are to God
Operation Christmas Child
For the past four years, Cridersville United Methodist has partnered with Samaritan's Purse by packing shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child. Since 1993, more than 100 million boys and girls in over 130 countries have experienced God’s love through the power of simple shoe box gifts from Operation Christmas Child. Families are encouraged to take their children shopping and pack a box for a child their age. All boxes are packed and ready to be taken to the local distribution center by the second week of November.
Christmas on Main Street
The Cridersville Youth host a telling of the Christmas story in the sanctuary of the Westview Campus as a part of Christmas on Main Street. Each child receives a Christmas book and a treat to take home with them.
