I am a beloved child of God who enjoys playing the piano and helping people connect with God through music. My husband Howard and I enjoy traveling, especially to discover lighthouses. My favorite Scripture: "And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age." (Matthew 28:20b) How wonderful to know that God is with us always!
Mark was raised in rural Arlington, Ohio, where life revolved around faith, family, and football (not always in that order). Growing up in a musical family there was hardly a time when someone wasn’t practicing piano, playing a band instrument, picking out the harmony line to someone’s melody, or performing in a school, church, or other music ministry concert. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Christian Ministries with a minor in Church Music from Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana, and his Masters of Divinity degree from Winebrenner Theological Seminary in Findlay, Ohio. Before accepting the position of Minister of Worship and Music at our church, he served as pastor and worship leader of Shawnee Church of God for 14 years. An ordained pastor with the Churches of God, General Conference, this isn’t the first time Mark has been “on loan” with a United Methodist congregation. Before arriving at Shawnee Church of God he served as youth pastor and then senior pastor at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Benton Ridge, Ohio. He and his lovely wife Jennie have two sons, Micah and Zach. When not behind the guitar at church, Mark can be found behind the sales counter at Layman’s Feed and Lawn in Elida, or behind a strong cup of coffee.
Colossians 3:17 holds special meaning to Mark, “Whatever you do, whether in word or in deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” Mark says, “This verse is a reminder that worship doesn’t have a beginning and ending at a select time on a Sunday morning. Worship encompasses the entirety of our lives. As a beloved child of God, my calling is to worship the Lord and to help others worship the Lord not just on Sunday morning, but 24/7/365 on to eternity.”
Jeff and Melanie Reichelderfer have been the Youth Leaders here at Cridersville UMC over 12 years. They know that being here and having the opportunity to work with teens has all been part of God’s awesome plan!!! Jeff and Mel have been married almost 16 years and have two sons (Rylan is 10 and Noah is 4). During their free time they love to be outdoors with the boys…camping, bike rides and going to Red’s Games! Jeff is also a full time Firefighter and Paramedic with American Township Fire Department.
Bringing Jesus to Teens…and helping them to grow in understanding of who God is and taking that into the world…is what they base this ministry on!
